People lived on Robben Island many thousands of years ago when the sea channel between the Island and the Cape mainland was not covered with water. Since the Dutch settled at the Cape in the mid-1600s, Robben Island has been used primarily as a prison.
The Robben Island Suite pays tribute to South Africa’s first democratically elected president, the esteemed Nelson Mandela who was imprisoned on Robben Island for nearly 24 years. It provides a quirky and yet very real reminder to those who wish to reflect on South Africa’s transition and the legacy that our beloved Madiba left for our nation.
Each suite has a private wooden deck offering premium views of the Atlantic Ocean and Hout Bay.
Accommodation, breakfast, the cocktail of the day, Wi-Fi & welcome bottle of wine on arrival.
Lunch / dinner and beverages, transfers, excursions, minibar, gratuity, and any other items of personal nature.
