Lexcursions

A Journey Beyond the Road

Lexcursions is a curated driving experience created by Lexus and the Tintswalo Collection for travellers who understand that true luxury is not about distance covered—but depth experienced. Rooted in the Japanese philosophy of Omotenashi—anticipatory, intuitive hospitality—each journey is designed as a seamless unfolding of landscape, emotion, and place.

Each Lexcursion is experienced in the latest all-electric Lexus RZ, a vehicle that embodies Lexus craftsmanship, innovation and Omotenashi. Designed for exceptional comfort, near-silent performance and a refined driving experience, the Lexus RZ allows guests to experience the Cape Peninsula with a heightened sense of calm and connection to their surroundings. More than simply transportation, the vehicle forms part of the journey itself, seamlessly blending luxury mobility with Tintswalo hospitality.

This is not a route. It is a way of seeing.

Travellers are invited to slow down and experience the Cape Peninsula as a living landscape—where ocean and mountain meet, where culture is layered into coastline, and where every turn becomes part of the story.

The Experience

Each Lexcursion follows a curated passage through the Cape’s most iconic and intimate landscapes. Suggested experience duration is approximately 4 - 6 hours, depending on guest preference, selected stops, restaurant bookings, weather and the final itinerary.

Atlantic Passage

Hout Bay | Chapman’s Peak | Constantia Winelands

A dramatic coastal journey carved into sandstone cliffs, where the Atlantic stretches endlessly alongside the road. From Tintswalo Atlantic, the route moves through a working harbour, along one of the world’s most iconic coastal drives, and into the quiet refinement of Constantia’s wine valleys.

A passage between wilderness and cultivated calm.

Suggested duration: Approx. 4 - 6 hours, tailored according to the guest itinerary.

Two Oceans Traverse

Boulders Beach | Simon’s Town | Scarborough

Beginning at Tintswalo Boulders, home to its protected African penguin colony, this journey unfolds along one of South Africa’s most celebrated coastal routes. From the naval heritage and charming streets of Simon’s Town, the route continues through the dramatic landscapes of Cape Point, where towering cliffs, sweeping ocean vistas, and the meeting of two great oceans create one of the continent’s most iconic landmarks. From there, the journey traces the wild Atlantic coastline to the laid-back village of Scarborough, where wind, water, and horizon define the experience.

Suggested duration: Approx. 4 - 6 hours, tailored according to the guest itinerary.

Indian Ocean Way

Glencairn | Kalk Bay | Muizenberg | Ou Kaapse Weg

Glencairn | Kalk Bay | Muizenberg | Ou Kaapse Weg
From Tintswalo Summer House, the road follows a coastline shaped by surf culture, fishing villages, and tidal rhythm. It then rises into the stillness of the mountains, revealing sweeping views across

False Bay from Ou Kaapse Weg.

A gentle shift from ocean energy to elevated calm.

Suggested duration: Approx. 4 - 6 hours, tailored according to the guest itinerary.

Curated Curiosities

Along each route, a series of handpicked pauses invite travellers to step off the road—beaches, viewpoints, galleries, cafés, and hidden local spaces.
These are not destinations to be completed, but moments to be felt.
Each one is an invitation to slow down, observe, and connect more deeply with place.

Soundscape of South Africa

An immersive audio journey curated by architect and cultural thinker Dr. Luyanda Mpahlwa, blending rhythm, memory, and landscape into a moving sonic experience that evolves with the road.
It is not background music. it is a travelling companion.

The Art of the Journey

Every Lexcursion is designed as a personal archive of experience.
Travellers are encouraged to document their journey through reflection, photography, and memory—turning movement into meaning.

Woven throughout is a subtle cultural thread inspired by South African heritage, including contemporary interpretations of roadside tradition, or padkos, reimagined through modern culinary storytelling.

Tintswalo Hospitality Layer

At the heart of every Lexcursion is a philosophy of hospitality defined by presence, intuition, and effortless care.

Luxury here is not performed—it is quietly lived.

Every detail is shaped to feel considered yet unobtrusive, allowing guests to move through their journey with a sense of ease, privacy, and connection to place.

It is hospitality that does not interrupt the experience, but deepens it.
